Job Description: InHand Electronics is seeking an energetic, highly-motivated electrical engineer for a challenging and rewarding position designing electronic boards for handheld and wireless devices. The successful candidate will have strong working knowledge of system design and be eager to learn about exciting new technologies in the world of wireless and handheld devices. The successful candidate will create and document hardware designs for customer projects, internal product development and R&D projects, contribute to product technical support, and interface with customers and vendors.

Primary Duties & Responsibility include:

• Performing board-level design activities (component selection, schematic capture, layout and production oversight, and debug) for internal R&D and customer projects such as smart sensors, wearable computers, PDA’s, and cell phones.
• Assist in development of product-specific detailed specifications and requirements.
• Write test plans, procedures, and engineering documentation in support of design projects.
• Take part in schematic design reviews.

 

Minimum Requirements:

• 5+ years total experience in board-level hardware design.
• Familiarity with all aspects of the electronics design and project development cycle.
• Design experience with small, densely laid out boards.
• Knowledge of handheld and wireless device standards is a plus.
• Experience with low-power electronics design desired.
• FPGA and RF design experience is a plus.
• Experience in designing electronics for military and industrial markets.
• Experience with conformation to standards and DFM is a plus.
• Knowledge of embedded software development (e.g., bootloaders, operating systems such as Windows CE and Linux, etc.)
• US citizenship
